Racing legend Mario Andretti makes a pit stop in Rome

Imagine meeting a man who is known around the world as the king of racing but when he arrives acts like that friend you've had your entire life. That's Mario Andretti. A kind and gentle man who will extend his hand to you and when he lets go you feel somehow transformed. Like you're in on a secret.

That secret is that no matter how popular or famous you are it's still possible to be a nice guy.

Yep, Mario Andretti is a nice guy. Lucky for us to have met him and now call him friend.

Mario becomes a Tallman for a day

My first family

I had a unique childhood, unlike other children around me. Our family traveled the world. My dad would cite passages from the constitution at the dinner table. He was an inventor, teacher, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. My mom was his biggest cheerleader. She never said no to his ideas and supported whatever he wanted to do.

One could learn a lot from them.
